Films:
Gettysburg - served as historical advisor for
director/screenwriter Ronald F. Maxwell for 5 years prior
to filming and aided him on-set during filming. Falci
provided casting director Joy Todd and the actors with
photographs and research. He also advised music supervisor
David Franco on songs of the period. General A.P. Hill is
portrayed by Falci in the film.
Gods and Generals - served as Ronald F. Maxwell's
historical coordinator for 3 years prior to filming.
In 1996 he scouted various locations in Washington County,
MD as possible film sites. In 1998 Falci took Ronald F.
Maxwell on a Stonewall Jackson tour of Civil War
battlefields and other sites. For this film, he provided
research on the characters to be portrayed and again
helped casting director Joy Todd with research and
photographs that were later used by the makeup dept.
While on-set filming, Falci provided historical information
to the director, actors, costume deptartment, set dressers,
props and other departments.
Rough Riders - assisted producer/actor Tom Berenger
with research; also played Rough Rider #2 while filming in
Texas.
Novels:
Gods and Generals, The Last Full Measure -
served as author Jeff Shaar’s historical advisor, providing
research and tours of Civil War sites portrayed in the
books.
On Secret Service, Charleston - at editor’s
request, vetted author John Jakes’ manuscripts for
historical accuracy.
Lectures:
Traveled across the country to Civil War Round Tables,
historical organizations and schools giving presentations
on a wide variety of Civil War subjects.
